30-Apr-2004 -- We visited this confluence after a planning period which took most of the winter, and involved three recce's, including one snow trudger. We were defeated by thigh deep snow, no path and poor maps, in some of the most remote and beautiful countryside Kosovo has always been famous for.

We were glad when we got a decent map in the spring. The first way considered involved 4 valleys between us and the point. It was only 3.8 km, but a lot of up and down. The spring vista was completely different. We found a road and track going close to the point, mostly following water courses. On the day we prepared for a long day, but when we arrived and took the vehicle as far as possible, about 2 km, a taxi-tractor arrived and took us to within half a km. Sheer luxury.

Once we ran about the hillside for a while and found the spot, of course the obligatory spring shower started. Undampened, we took pictures, waved flags and left a tiny environmentally friendly cache and place marker. Setting off for lunch started the good weather, and we enjoyed a small barbecue in the sunshine. Our fire alerted the local forestry staff who came along to make sure it was not out of control. This led to them being feted with hotdogs and cheese.

The road home took us a different way, with more beautiful vistas and a chance meeting in a local sawmill. Engineers are always attracted to other engineers using large bits of machinery in the back-yard.
