09-Apr-2004 -- We visited this confluence as part of an university project. We study ORIENTEERING AND LAND NAVIGATION with professor Raul M. Friedmann at the Federal Center of Technological Education of Paraná(CEFET-PR).

We left Curitiba-PR at 6:30 AM on the April 9th and drove for approximately 360Km to the city of Salete, state of Santa Catarina (SC). The confluence took place over a hill beside the road. We tried to reach the other side of the hill by car, because according to the maps there were plantations near the confluence, making it easier for us to find it.

Unfortunately, even with the help of the local people, we were not able to find the correct road. The best attack point we found was inside a private property, 1400m from the confluence. We thank Mrs Imelda Rohden and her daughters for calling the landowners, who authorized our entrance.

It was a pine tree reforestation. We walked towards the confluence until we found dense native woods. We tried to follow some trails, but at the end we had to make our way through approximately 200m of native jungle, until we found a plantation. Then we walked through open field to the conquest of the 27S 50W confluence at approximately 16:15. The altitude was 634m.
