English narrative

11-Apr-2004 -- This cp is the farthest in our region from Bryansk, therefore we devoted a whole day to its seizure. We were to cover about 200 km to the west. The weather was favourable and having taken all the necessary stuff for picnic we started. On our way along the Gomel-road we saw the settlement of Lyschichi with the ruins of an old church - the Church of the Holy Virgin's Birth built in 1814. Under the walls of the destroyed church we came across some natives who offered us to buy some archeological finds like ancient coins found in their gardens. Now inside the church grow big trees and near it - a peartree. As the natives told us, under the peartree there was a grave of the priest's daughter... But we should go farther. As we aproached Klintsi the clouds thickened in the sky. We hurried to find the cp before it started to rain. Fortunately the cp was 400 metres away from the road, in the field. About 5 metres from the cp there was a small pond, or rather a big puddle. Thanks God we needn't force this pool!

  Notes
Attention: In December 1989 the area around the Confluence had a radioactive surface contamination from Caesium-137 of 185-555 kBq/m², the half-life of Cs-137 being 30 years. Even higher contamination values (555-1480 kBq/m²) can be found to the West of the Confluence. Thus approach should be done coming from the East, the time of stay in this area should be kept as short as possible, and appropriate measures should be taken by the visitors to protect themselves against any radioactive contamination.
