#1: View of area looking East over the lake

(visited by RICK GOOBIE)

05-Mar-2004 -- At 8:15am myself and two friends left Grand Falls Windsor by snowmachine and travelled south on a sight seeing trip.

At about 3:00pm we arrived at Jeddore Lake and had travelled 176kms and one of my friends brought the subject up about points of confluence. After a little conversation we decided to detour a little and try to find the point.

About 30 minutes of picking our way over hills & valleys we arrived at the point. The pictures will show that the confluence point of 48N 56W is on land at an elevation of 677ft and not on the lake like we expected.

The weather that day was sunny, with a temperature of -3c. The type of terain in the area is rocky hills. The type of soil was hard to tell because of about four feet of snow covering everthing.

In summer or fall there is a road used to access a hydro dam in the area. By using this road you can drive to about 750 meters from the confluence point.

After taking the pictures we proceeded another 15kms to St. Albans, refueled and travelled back to Grand Falls Windsor, arriving at 9:15pm - 346kms travelled with no trouble.
