14-Mar-2004 -- Sunday. We previously overlooked at this confluence provided it was close to Monterrey, so we assumed it was going to be dense with private properties, not quite.

We drove from Saltillo to Monterrey, 20 minutes past the airport, continued to Marin city and next to Higueras town: a peaceful, yet modern well kept tiny town. At the “police station” we asked for “San Jose” ranch (4km NNE from Higueras) my closest access point, but after a while browsing at the map (the topographic one) they said that ranch was no longer there, but the road is. I promised to give away (and did) my map for mine (topo in color) was better than theirs.

The dirt road past the Camajan river bank is well kept. We stop the pickup, about 300m from the confluence, from there, the zigzig walk was easy but had to disperse a bunch of cows first, horns is not equal to bulls (bulls are kept in stone wall corrals).

The GPS-Zeroes dance was not long but silly, provided the confluence was right within a young “huizache” tree. Height reported was 551 meters a.s.l. On the way back we drove via Zuazua, through Marin was faster.
