#1: View to the South

(visited by Captain Peter and Werner Furlan)

19-Oct-2003 -- From Rufino, where we had spent the night, this morning we continued on route nr. 7 towards WNW, and bent then into the provincial road nr. 3 towards North. About 4km South of the small settlement of La Cesira we stopped exactly on latitude 34S and walked an 800 metres towards East, along a fence around a field full of bulls, the suppliers of the famous Argentine "bife de chorizo" (steaks).

We walked up to a wind wheel, and in the attached pool there was swimming a duck family.

We realized the confluence to be inside the bulls' enclosure and thus we went along the fence until the closest safe point of approach, fortunately only about 75 metres off.

The reason why we could not go closer, has already been mentioned. We have no experience with these animals, and we do not know whether these bulls are dangerous or harmless, so we did not dare to try.

For our photo we had purchased an Argentine flag just yesterday at Rufino.

We attach the views towards North, South, where the wind wheels can be seen, and to the East.
