24-May-2003 -- This afternoon my wife slept siesta, two of my children are in bed with influenza, this left my small daughter of two years, Felipe (8 years) and myself.

In order to entertain myself I started to surf the Internet and I came accross this page, I reviewed the confluences of Chile and I realized that there is one close to my house that has not been visited.

I invited Felipe to go for it and we went on our way. I imagined that the confluence would be in the middle of an affluent orchard of fruit trees since this zone is the greater producer of fruits. Chile is a great exporter of fruit of great quality to the whole world.

Also it could be some vineyards, since the region is also well-known by the excellent quality of the wines that it produces. My hopes were bane, as we approached it I could realize that the confluence was in a small mountainous zone in the middle of best fruit territories of Chile.

Every time the roads by which we approached were worse and my car is not 4x4, quire the opposite. Finally after passing several doors and asking for permission to the villagers we arrived at the end of a road, where we found the owner of property, Mr. Antonio Farías.

He found what we were doing very entertaining and gave us permission, he also ordered one of his employees to accompany us. We left by foot, and after one hour of long walk through the area we reached a point where I could see the confluence. When I tried to take a photo with my Mavica (an old floppy model) I could not. I had brought a new floppy disk, but no backup, with such a bad luck that that damn floppy disk was bad and I could not take the photo.

Since it was getting dark I decided to return. We arrived at 1820 meters of the confluence according to my GPS.

In the near future I am going to organize a trip to get there. I already know where the confluence is, how to get there, and I have the telephone of the owner to get his permission.
