#1: Looking North from the confluence point

(visited by Kenneth Girodias)

30-Nov-2002 -- We were in Myrtle Beach, SC and my mother wanted to take a drive and see other parts of the state. Looking up points on the map, I suggested we drive to the 34-80 confluence point, which was about 65 miles away. My mother, daughter, and I started off. We drove across the state on highway 378 and then took highway 341 until just before I-95. From there we took several dirt, shale, and semi-paved roads until we got to about 400 feet way. At this point we were on the edge of a corn field. The field had long been cut and was only slightly wet. My daughter and I walked across the field to the confluence point, got all the zeros on the GP, snapped photos of the GPS and in the north, south, east, and west directions. After reaching our goal and snapping pictures, we headed back to Myrtle Beach.
