After our visit of the 27N 46E confluence point, we spent our last night of this fantastic weekend in the desert. In the morning we took off for al-Ẓahrān with the goal of visiting three more confluence points en route. Something that represented no major difficulty for all of them were quite close to the highway.

The first encountered was the 28N 46E point, then the 28N 47E and, finally the 28N 48E point. All of them have been reached during the morning and it was about noon when we reached al-Safāniyya.

Having a look on the map, we noticed that we were quite close to Ra's Tanajib, where is an Aramco compound. Being all Aramco employees, we thought that it would be nice to have lunch at their cafeteria. Alas! This was without taking account of the sex discrimination in Saudi Arabia. Because there is no women living in that petroleum workers compound, we could not get in, even for only having lunch, because of the presence of 2 women among us.

We set off for the nearest gas station where we've had lunch in a restaurant that would probably be quoted as unsanitary in North America.

However… we finally made it to al-Ẓahrān by the end of the afternoon, on that Saturday September 21st 2002.
