09-Sep-2002 -- This confluence is 1.1km south of the Gibb River road, a rough and corrugated track through the heart of the Kimberley region originaly built to allow the passage of cattle bearing road-trains to and from stations in the area. We reached the closest point on the road to the confluence when the sun was high in the sky. September in this area is getting warm, so rather than walk we drove across the grasslands.

Despite driving, the approach was pretty slow. Whilst sparsely vegetated, there were enough small trees and termite mounds to require us to take a rather indirect route. A couple of times it seemed we would have to walk, but just a hundred metres from our target the way cleared and we were able to park right at the confluence. Once again our Goddess appeared most satisfied as she posed for photos on the bonnet (hood :-) with the GPS.
