#1: Looking toward the point with Expedition Range behind.

(visited by Owen Foley)

26-Aug-2002 -- I was lucky on my third attempt at 25°S 150°E. I’d had near misses from the north and south on previous visits. It’s not difficult, but I ran out of time looking for a track that would get me close and didn’t have enough time for the walk.

The point is ten kilometres southwest of Theodore and near the edge of the rugged sandstone country of the Expedition Range. It is best approached from Glenmoral-Roundstone Road and is an easy walk of 1.5 km from the road.

The point is in a cleared grazing paddock that was once covered with brigalow. Brigalow is a large wattle tree that once covered a vast area of Queensland and New South Wales but has been extensively cleared for cropping and grazing.
