31-Jul-2002 -- I spotted the confluence on an old Russian survey map stuck up on the wall at "Nature's Door Ger Camp", Lake Hovsgol I persuaded the others in our jeep that a little detour on the way to to airport would bring me within range of the 50:100 point - unfortunately we were a bit late and I had to run the last 2km from the track (you can just see the jeep as a tiny dot in the distance in picture 1)

Picture 2 are my human* witnesses - Chantal and Michelle Coe - although willing to indulge my curious ambition I was unable to persuade them to leave the comfort (and shade) of our vehicle. *Other witnesses include a bemused bunch of Bactrian camels.
