10-Jan-2002 -- As I travelled northwest along highway 43 toward Grande Prairie another confluence got too close to ignore. 55N 117W appeared to be about 22 Km off Highway 43, along secondary 665. The drive took me past large, incredibily flat grain fields that had been recently cleared from the apsen forest. Land still in the process of being cleared was being pastured by horses. There were cattle farms in the area too.
Eventually the GPS guided me to the west end of Twp Rd 692. From this point the confluence was still 2.68 Km at 234 degrees, which put it in an aspen forest. A search for roads that approached from the opposite side came up empty and it was too late to walk in. Perhaps another day.
