19-Jun-2001 -- (continued from 44N103W)

After two days and 9 confluences John (pic #4) and I were due back in Hazelton, ND for the final days before my wedding to the lovely Miss Monique Malard. Rising early in Kadoka, SD, we went east on I-90 to Exit 212, turning north on US83 which would take us all the way to Hazelton. But first we stopped for a photo of the South Dakota capitol in Pierre (pic #6) and then a 4 mile detour on US212 towards Gettysburg to bag 45N100W (pic #1) which was about 100 yards off a gravel road in a field of what looked like alfalfa. I’m not a botanist but I did stay the night before in a Holiday Inn Express. We jumped back in the car and headed north to Hazelton, finishing a great 2 ½ days of “bachelor party”. All told, we visited 10 confluences and one high-point. Throughout the whole trip we traveled through some beautiful county, you’d really love it out there!
