02-Jul-2001 -- Bien que je préfère les promenades en forêt, je n'ai pu résister à la tentation de voir l'île d'Orléans vue de la montagne. Le prix à payer était de 600km. Compte tenu du mauvais temps, j'ai été un peu déçu.

Le confluent se trouve sur une terre privée. Il est donc de votre intérêt de demander un droit de passage. Ici les gens sont craintifs et n’hésiteront pas à appeler la police. Je me suis arrêté cinq minutes sur le bord du chemin pour regarder ma carte et j'ai vite reçu la visite d’une personne me demandant ce que je faisais là.

J'ai trouvé le propriétaire par hasard. Après avoir expliqué le projet, j'ai eu la permission d'escalader la montagne. J'ai pu faire la première partie en auto. J'ai marché les 300 derniers mètres. Le confluent se trouve en dessous de lignes électriques (735kv) et à côté d’un champ de bleuets.

En escaladant la montagne un peu plus, on obtient une belle vue de l'île d'Orléans. Personnellement, je préfère encore la nature sauvage.

Although I prefer the walks in forest, I could not resist to the temptation of seeing the Orleans Island from the mountain. The price to pay was 600km. Taking into account the bad weather, I was a little bit disappointed.

The confluence is on a private land. Thus, it is in your interest to ask for permission. People there are suspicious and will not hesitate to call the police. I stopped five minutes on the roadside to look at my map, and I quickly received a visit from a person asking me what I was doing there.

I found the owner by chance. After having explained the project, I had the permission to climb the mountain. I could make the first part by car. I walked the last 300 meters. The confluence is below powerlines (735kv) and beside a blueberries field.

By climbing the mountain a little more, you obtain a beautiful sight of the Orleans Island. Personally, I still prefer wild nature.
