25-May-2001 -- The point is about four miles south of John Martin Reservoir on the Arkansas River and twelve and a half miles southeast of Las Animas, CO, in a pasture. This is high plains country with few trees and only fences and telephone poles to break the horizon. The handful of cows in the pasture were only mildly curious and the bull just stared a moment before losing interest. I was able to drive within 150 yards of the point on a track that is sort of an extension of Bent County Road BB.
