(visited by Larry Mays)

16-Apr-2001 -- This is the sixth of the confluence points around my hometown of Minden, LA, that I have visited. It is about 100 yards east of Wyant Road in Caldwell Parish, LA. The confluence point is on the side of a ravine on the edge of the first high ground at this latitude west of the Mississippi and Ouachita rivers. I traveled southeast from Banks Springs on LA 849 to Copenhagen crossroads and then followed the twists and turns of Wyant Road to get there. The environment is one of open hardwoods on steep hillsides mixed with pines on the ridge tops. A few blooming wild phlox scattered among the trees offered the only contrast to the shades of brown and green.
