24-Feb-2001 -- Well, this is my first one, and I intend to clean up all the remaining "White Spots" in Austria ! I consider the "Degree Confluence Project" a good idea in general, and it is a different, interesting way to discover my country...

I am Customer-Engineer working for an IT company, and -- among other tricky tasks :) - the whole day long I'm searching for addresses and places, finding them despite incorrect, improper or even missing information.

So, my new GPS device leads me directly to the point, leaving no doubt about my actual position -- THAT I call recreation, indeed !

N47 E11 is located on the west side of the valley's hillside near Soelden in the Oetz-Tal, wich is in a region in Tirol / Austria called "Oberland".

Altough at an altitude of some 1750m (5750 ft), the trail up there isn't very steep. Straining sometimes, for in March in shady places you have to make your way through snow up to your knee...

Had a brief discusion with myself, whether I should photograph myself, ME at the spot that is... ...but in view of the great mountains around me I cancelled this, for they were here long before me, and they will still be here long after I've returned to the dust, so I just sat down and enjoyed...

c ya
Mike ;-)
