16-Jan-2000 -- This confluence is located on the old Spanish "Jornada Del Muerto" [road of death]. Fortunately today the access is not quite so lethal. The confluence is located approximately a half mile north of the Aleman ranch [and] no more than a half mile from a good gravel road by the RR tracks. The Caballo mountains are located directly west and a further distance east are located the San Andres mountains. North and south is a flat desert plain which gave the road its name.
