18-Aug-2017 -- This would be the third confluence of the day coming from 43N 113W. We took Exit 80 off Interstate 15 and headed east on Simplot Road which also seems to be named Gay Mine Road and also Ross Fork Road although we really didn’t see any signs. We continued eastbound until we reached a pull out on the south side of the road. We would travel the rest of the way on the RZR.

The roads were in very good condition, we turned south onto Pole Line Road here and south again here until a double track that would lead us to the confluence. The entire way, except for the double track, would be easily managed by any type of vehicle.

We saw one car and hundreds of cows during our trip. The confluence itself is located in a slight depression covered with grass and patches of sagebrush. To the north is Big Jimmy Creek and power lines are visible to the east. We took the required pictures, captured differential GPS data, and sent out a SPOT message before heading back.

Round trip time on the RZR was 1+15 with 30.7 miles and we were stopped for 25 minutes. Total time off I-15 was 2+30.

Post processing of the GPS data (625 positions) reveals that my Trimble GPS receiver was 0.519 meters bearing 267 degrees from the actual confluence with a Horizontal Precision of 1.9 meters.

Tomorrow we would meet up with Ross Finlayson for the challenge of 44N 113W.
