(visited by Ross Finlayson)

13-May-2017 -- I spent a free day visiting three Degree Confluence Points in the Kansas City area. My first visit of the day was to this point, which had been visited four times before, but only in February or March. I was looking forward to seeing what it looked like in mid-May.

It turned out that the point looked pretty much the same as in the previous visits - just without any snow. The field (a corn field, judging by the handful of small corn cobs that I saw) is still bare. Like previous visitors, I parked at 39.99975°N 94.99171°W - about 1/2 mile east of the point - and hiked along a raised doubletrack farm road that forms the field’s southern boundary. Just before reaching an irrigation canal (where the front-end of a truck is parked; its engine apparently being used to run a pump), I stepped onto the (bare) field, with the point being a short distance away.
