26-May-2016 -- Because I am living quite close to the 12th longitude visits of Confluence Points along this line are of particular interest for me.
I used the opportunity of the public holiday Corpus Christi, which is always on a Tuesday, took an additional day off on Friday and therefore had 4 days in a row to drive to Denmark and visit its CPs along 12°E.
On Wednesday I left the office earlier than usual, drove some hundred kilometres towards the north and spent the night in a hotel. On Confluence day I drove to the German island of Fehmarn and took the ferry to Rødbyhavn on the Danish island of Lolland. There I continued partly on highways and partly on the motorway E47. This motorway passes the Confluence Point in about 420 metres and its exit no. 41 provides convenient access to the CP. There I left the motorway found a parking lot next to the exit where I parked my car in 210 metres direct distance to the point. From there I walked at the sidewalk of the highway to a driveway, which leads directly to the Confluence Point 55°N 12°E.
Zeroing out the GPS was quite easy and I quickly took the required photos. It is a very easy-to-reach point, and the lush vegetation and sunny day made it a very pleasant experience.
I continued my way towards the north and spent the night in a cabin at a camping site in Køge, about halfway to my next planned Confluence Point 56°N 12°E.
