05-Jun-2013 -- We left Denmark and continued our trip to France, where we would visit Paris and Le Mans, on 8 June we arrived in Paris and took the train to Le Mans the next day. We had mentioned to Rafael Maurice, the husband of Eva's sister, our intention to visit the point 48N 0, as it was near Le Mans. Rafael was very interested in the adventure, he coordinated all the logistics and rented a car for one day to do this tour.

We picked up the car at about 5 pm, in as much as the sun sets at about 10 pm at this time of year, we had time to take a tour of the city and have the privilege of driving on the circuit of 24 Hours of Le Mans. We visited the cathedral of Saint-Julien and the centre of the city, which I thought was very nice and very organized. We visited the Le Mans car museum and could see the emotion of the people as they were in the final touches to host the race which would be on 22 June.

The next day very early we left the Rue de Sable where we stayed, towards the D50 road until the junction Fay, there taking the D277 road through the French countryside, we saw beautiful planted grain fields, the point located in a rural area called Brains-sur-Gée, in the Sarthe department, district La Fléche in the region of Les Pays de la Loire.

Continue along this road until we get to the point, leave the car at the side of the road bourgoiserie and started straight running about 80 meters by a field that had been mowed, under a clear sky and a blazing sun found the Meridian interesting point 0, 109 masl and at 11:33 am, I could see the GPS changed hands between the right and left and changed each side of the meridian, once in the West and another in the East

We took photos and headed along the same road to reach Solesmes, which we had been recommended to visit, first passing several villages including Vallon-sur-Gée and Asnières-sur-Vègre where we could see traces of the past in its ancient buildings. Finally got to Solesmes where Abbey Saint-Pierre is, we walked by the Sarthe bridge and stoppiong to take advantage with a typical French lunch that included rillettes, ratatouille and cordon lace accompanied by good cider and dessert Crème brûlée.

Our confluence adventure continues in Italy, next destination of our trip: Rome on 9 June we were in the Eternal City. Find the 42N 12E.
