#1: Looking down snow-covered stairs

(visited by Dennis Brown)

16-Jan-1997 -- The confluence is just outside of Washington, D.C., less than eight miles from the White House. I know this because my D.C. map has blue rings printed two miles apart, and the confluence is just inside the eight mile ring.

The first picture is taken facing east looking directly at the point that appears to be the closest to 'ground zero' of the confluence. Numbers 2 and 3 are taken from the same spot facing southeast and northeast respectively. Number 4 was taken from at least 500 feet up the hill from the confluence. If you focus just to the left of the 25 Mile Per Hour speed limit sign in picture number 4, down toward the lowest elevation visible, you are looking east at the spot near the top of the stairs in picture number 1.

The pictures were taken in the winter of 1996/1997 prior to January 16, 1997.That's the date the pictures were written to the Kodak Picture Disk by the photo developers.
