English version

04-Apr-2014 -- After the visit of the point 11°N 5°W this morning, I continue with my driver Paul towards the point 11°N 4°W with a stopover in Bobo-Dioulasso. This point was visited only once in 2005.

I take the road R20 towards Diebougou. Just after the village of Kiebalogo, but before the dam on the right of the road, a track goes towards North-East. After 1.7 km, we park the car in the shade, and we walk 1 km in a plain straight to the point.

It is the afternoon, the air is very hot, 43°C, we progress in a stony plain, it is really a furnace!

We reach the point easily. It is a vast plain where millet is cultivated. There are some trees, especially shea trees, and nérés (Parkia biglobosa) whose fruit is used to make the soumbala sauce. Some huts used by the peasants during the season of the cultures are around, they are empty now. Some large termite mounds, which can be several meters high.

Just while I was taking pictures, a Spotted thick-knee (Burhinus capensis) started to move a little further. As long as it didn’t move, it was really invisible in the landscape.
