03-Aug-2013 -- Whenever and wherever we travel, I always check for the possible confluence points on our way. Tunisia was no exception. We only needed the reality to suit our intentions.

In the last days of our holiday we went for an excursion across southern Tunisia and the Sahara desert. Quite by chance I took out my navigator to check where we were. It turned out that we were quickly approaching the 34N 10E point. I tried to explain to our guide and the driver the idea of our “hunt” and asked them for a short stop. As the point turned out to be situated on the bridge, the driver was able to stop only 350 meters away from it. We had 5 minutes for the whole procedure, so we ran the distance from the bus to the point and back. To save time we had to give up the noughts. The photos were taken 50 meters away from the Confluence.

The place is a riverbed. The previous travellers’ pictures (taken in January and May) show some water. During out visit, however, the water was completely dried up. The Mediterranean coast is 4,5 km to the East. There is a small village whose name is unknown to us 600 meters to the South, and the village of Wadhraf 2,5 km to the South-East.
