#1: View North

(visited by Ross Finlayson)

22-Jul-2013 -- Continued from 54N 12E

This was an interesting confluence point. I visited it while driving between Rostock and Stralsund. Exiting the Autobahn, I drove South and West along a series of pretty, tree-lined country roads, ending up on a sandy double-track farm road that passed 750 meters West of the confluence point.

Between the farm road and the confluence point lay a long, roughly rectangular-shaped pasture - about 700 meters long, and about 200 meters wide. I walked along this pasture (which at the time had no animals grazing in it). (It seems that animals do pass this way occasionally, though, because I saw several hunting blinds installed alongside the pasture.)

I reached the end of the pasture just 30 meters from the confluence point. Beyond the pasture was a region of very long grass. Plowing through this grass, I covered the remaining 30 meters, to reach the confluence point, which lies at the base of a prominent tree that was growing amid the long grass. I saw that other people had recently made paths through the grass, leading to the same tree.
