(visited by Jean-Luc Frérotte)

English version

English version

14-Apr-2013 -- I leave Ouagadougou on the N5 road with Soumaïla towards Kombissiri. There we turn east and we follow an easy track until Gaongho, then another track still towards east in direction of the Nakanbé River that is dry in this season. Following the GPS, we find smaller tracks until the point 12N 1W. Not difficult to reach this point, but a 4x4 car is necessary.

The point is in a wide plain just beside an old Piliostigma tree (no English name). People cultivate millet, sorghum, cotton. Some trees, raisiniers, baobabs, Balanites. Some herds of cows and sheep. Anything new since the previous visits.

We continue our trip to the next eastern confluence 12N 0 on the meridian line of Greenwich.
