13-Aug-2012 -- We made a nice family trip from NYC to Toronto. We took this opportunity to introduce confluence hunting to our daughters and one of their friend who went with us on that trip. Although there was a great choice of CP along our route, we choose two points that looked really easy to reach : we visited N44 W78 on Sunday august 12 and N43 W78 on Monday august 13. This second point is certainly one of the easiest to reach in the USA. It is located on a paved road 3 km south of Interstate 90. It took us only a few minutes on our trip from Niagara falls to Syracuse. As already described by previous visitors the CP lies on the east shoulder of the road close to a tall hedge.

After shooting the usual pictures we headed back north to I90 and went by a red barn at N43.00.23,19 W78.00.11,42.

In the afternoon we visited the city of Syracuse which has a long history of economic prosperity starting in the early 17th century with the discovery of salted waters by a French missionary. Later in the 19th century, Syracuse was at the crossroads of the Erie canal and the railroad network between the great lakes area and the Atlantic coast. Many wonderful heritage building can be seen in downtown Syracuse.

Overall after visiting two points on each side of Ontario lake, our beginners found confluencing funny but still somewhat useless ; there is little chance that they would try it again with us !
