(visited by Targ Parsons and Peter Cao)

01-Jul-2012 -- Story continues from 35°N 111°E.

Heading northeast through Yùnchéng Prefecture (运城市), we eventually find the entrance to the freeway to Línfén Prefecture (临汾市). We stop at a service area along the freeway for lunch.

We take the Línfén exit, then, after a little hunting, find the road east to Fúshān County (浮山县). We follow this road, then at Fúshān head northeast on county route X540 to Běiwáng Township (北王乡). From Běiwáng, we work our way southeast along winding country roads to a point 835 m short of the confluence.

Here the road turns sharply left, but we continue straight on, up a very poor, very narrow, and very steep dirt track. It is not easy going. We finally park the car at a distance of 200 m from the confluence. To our left is a wheat field. The confluence is off to the right, in a fenced-off, wooded area, the ground covered with pinecones and pine needles.

We find the confluence on a relatively gentle slope, away from the trees, and an all-zeroes GPS reading is easy to get. We then consult the compass to take the north-south-east-west photos. Before leaving, Peter takes a photo of the two confluencers.

And with that, all 14 Shānxī (山西省) confluence points have now had successful visits, and the entire province is red.

Story continues at 36°N 113°E.
