#1: The confluence point still lies in a field - just next to a paved cul-de-sac (with no homes yet!)

(visited by Ross Finlayson)

20-May-2011 -- I was intrigued by this confluence point, because the first (and only) visit to this point - by Craig and Cheryl Davidson almost 11 years earlier - had reported that it was "in an empty field". However, recent satellite images showed that a paved cul-de-sac - apparently for a new subdivision - lay next to the point. Would the confluence point still lie in a field, or has 'urban sprawl' swallowed it up (as have so many other confluence points in the past decade).

I'm pleased to report that the confluence point still lies in a field - barely. It is just a few feet from the paved cul-de-sac, but no homes have (yet) been built at the site. Since the first visit, a new house has been built just to the south of the cul-de-sac, but none on the cul-de-sac itself. Perhaps this subdivision was a victim of the bursting of the 'housing bubble'? In any case, it seems that this confluence point will become part of someone's front yard sometime in the future.

It was a gloomy, heavily overcast day when I visited; hence the poor quality of the photos.
