15-Ene-2011 --

15-Jan-2011 --

I have an unpredicted business travel to Fort Worth and in during preparations I evaluate which confluence can be visit. I see the possibility of multiple visits, some depending on permission from the land owners, something very delicate in this region.

Saturday, January 15, I landed at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport in the afternoon, after a very short connection at Miami airport where I almost miss the flight. I leave airport to search the rental car that I booked and once in the car, I turned on my GPS. My concern was sunset time was approximately at 4:30 pm, but fortunately in these latitudes after the sunset, enough clear light remains for a while and there were no problem to take pictures and view the area.

In only a few minutes I reach the confluence area, park the car and start to walk amidst an horrible cold 1° C, which for me is a strong thermal shock coming from a tropical zone. When I am arriving to the confluence, I discover that the area has changed dramatically since the previous visit. I'm looking for the classic view of the corridor, the fence, the nearby building, pole and the hydrant, but all that already disappeared. The only view that stands is overlooking the South towards Convergence’s building and to the parking lot to the West. No doubt, always has great value visit already visited confluence, this one has been previously visit in 12 opportunities and this the # 13 visit (my lucky number) document the changes.

At 4:55 pm with a great cold, I took required photos and achieved an excellent reading of only 2 mts error in my Garmin GPSMAP 276C, at an elevation of 180 masl (the time shown in the GPS corresponds to local time in Venezuela that I had not change yet my GPS setting). Once completed photos capture, I returned to car and go to my hotel, check-in and rest, in order to prepare myself for the long journey that I had planned next day in search of more confluences.

The hunting continue on Sunday 16-01-2011 in 34°N 97°W.
