30-Aug-2010 – In the morning we departed from Abakan city. But we didn't go the confluence immediately, at first we looked at the Yenisei Gates and climbed to Kunya mountain. After that we went towards the confluence point. The road from Abakan to this point has very good conditions almost all the away along. Along this road the tourists usually go to watch the Valley of the Kings and its most famous tumulus – the Great Salbykskiy one. After driving along this road about 50 km one reaches Vershino-Bidzha village. At this place one has not to mistake, before the village entry one needs to turn sharply in almost the opposite direction. Further one needs to drive onto the dirt road towards the Tolcheya village. There are no any road signs. I advise to draw a route and upload it to a GPS-navigator in advance, using satellite maps, because there are a lot of road furcations there. Having round the next hill, you reach some small birch grove in a low place. Further way is walking only. It's quite close, about 100 metres to go, however it's uphill.

The exact confluence spot was easy to find, it was marked by a small pyramid of white stones made by our predecessors. We photographed views to the north, to the north-west and to the north-east, the screen of GPS reciever, as well as ourselves. After all we returned to the car and organized a little picnic. Our meal was attractive for dragon-flies, wasps, bees, grasshoppers and other meadow living creatures Then we set off to the Valley of the Kings, but that's another story...
