17-Oct-2010 --

Following the pace of two confluences per month, in the last four months, I took a trip with the family to Governador Valadares city to visit confluences 19S42W, located in Alpercata city, near Governador Valadares, and 20S42W in Simonésia city.

We left Contagem city in Saturday morning, October 16th, and traveled up to Governador Valadares city, where we arrived early afternoon. We comply some commitments, and, when I had a free time, I attempted to visit 19S42W in same day. However, when I was less than 200 meters close to the exact point, hiking in the bush, I realized that it was too dark to take the required pictures. Then, I came back to Governador Valadares, where we would spend the night, and left both confluence visits to the next day.

In Sunday, October 17th, we woke up early and started the long trip, in which we would visit two confluences and would came back home. We caught BR-116 highway and followed by 17 kilometers, up to Alpercata city, near Governador Valadares.

The confluence lies in a bush area very near to the city, behind José Antônio Souto Street. When passing by this street by car, we were 110 meters close to the exact point. However, due to houses located between the street and the confluence, we needed to follow a bit more, in order to find a way to enter in the bush area. We stopped the car about 300 meters to the confluence. Then, I got in the bush and hiked up to the exact point.

After getting all GPS zeroes, I came back to the street by other path, and crossed the line of houses by an empty terrain.

After visiting the point, we came back to BR-116 highway in southern direction. This narrative continues on 20S42W.
