28-May-2009 -- I was on the first day of a four day GPSing weekend (geodashing and confluence hunting). 43N76W was the second of three confluences successfully reached on my trip. Although I came from the opposite direction on Troop K Road, I found the same large open area with a rocky area on the left mentioned in the Altshulers’report. A large sign indicated that this was the direction for “Cavalry Club POOL PARKING.” Today there were a couple of large piles of chipped wood there as well. I did not discover this until I was returning to my car, but at the far back right of the open area (43.00072N, 75.99784W) there is an opening in the woods that is a path (or perhaps a quad track) that passes within just a few meters of the confluence (see photo #5). I took the more direct route through the woods following the direction of the GPSr. It was not a difficult walk as the trees were widely spaced and the ground vegetation was thin with last year’s leaves still covering the ground. This can be seen in the photos, #1 to the north, #2 to the west, and #3 to the south. If you look carefully in photo #3 on the left side you can see the aforementioned path in the distance. A collection of logs and branches is seen in photo #4. It is almost as if someone had attempted to construct a shelter of sorts there. Photo #6
