My 100th unique confluence point

8th confluence visit out of a trip of 8

Continued from 49°N 10°E

The last confluence point during my five days tour was going to be also my 100th unique confluence point I have visited. Coming from 49N 10E I passed by a fairy-tale-like little city of Dinkelsbühl and after an hour’s drive I came at Weißenburg in Bayern. It stopped raining and the sun came out in the sky. Behind Weißenburg the B13 road for Ingolstadt steeply ascended. After ca. 3 km I turned right into a forest road leading towards the confluence point.

I drove ca. 1.5 km through the forest and came to an opening very close to the CP. Because of the distance I still had to drive (over 750 km) I was not going to spend too much time on searching the exact spot but I managed to get all zeroes fairly quickly. I localized the confluence near a shooting platform at the edge of the forest. The forest on the other side of the track was fenced in so I was lucky the point hadn’t been there. The sun was pleasantly shining and it was quite warm (15 ˚C) as compared to the cold and rainy morning.

It was my 108th confluence visit and the 100th unique confluence point I have visited. A couple of reflections on my five years presence in the project I presented with my 100th confluence visit so now I include only a bit of statistics.

Visit details:

  • Time at the CP: 11:46
  • Distance to the CP: 0 m
  • GPS accuracy: 10 m
  • GPS altitude: 515 m asl
  • Temperature: 15 °C

My track (PLT file) is available here.
