10-Jan-2008 -- In our vacations in Maceio, Brazil in January 2008, I studied the map and I saw that 10ºS 36ºW was feasible to be reached with the family and without much risk. We rented a car and we set ourselves to the adventure.

In the area are many plantations, so we had to leave the car at a certain distance, because this is an elevated area with respect to the sea, and approach the beach down a high cliff; so with the help of Google Earth, I looked for the coordinates in where the slope could be done on foot, and thus to reach our target.

After leaving the car, we began the long walk according to our plan and we did not find greater misfortunes, but the effort of the long walk. Great was our surprise when arriving at the beach, we discovered that it was very ample, beautiful, and desolated; indeed there was nobody in kilometers. It seemed to be our “private beach” for us.

As the confluence is at 200 m out to sea, I had to walk at least 100 m in order to approach enough to make a complete visit. This is possible when the tide is low, but as in that moment it was raising, I had to hurry up to approach to less than 100 m from the point with the camera and the GPS in the hand, with the water until the chest and the waves that pushed me towards outside, like trying to stop me from conquering this confluence. When I was close enough to consider this visit valid (to less than 100 m of the point), I took the required pictures.

Later, we amused a little in “our beach” and we started our way back very happy because we made this new adventure.

Coordinator's Note: Acording to GPS readings pictures were taken at 100 m from CP and with a GPS precision of 7 m, the probable distance to CP calculates to 101 m.
