25-Nov-2007 -- We left to Assunção do Piauí on a good road until São Miguel do Tapuio, we had 60 km more on a dirt road. To make things worst, we took the wrong road, which made us cover 8km more, and 69 minutes more than the correct option.

We arrived at 14h00 and went directly to the hotel where we were welcomed with a good lunch. Then we proceeded to the confluence at 16 km from the hotel on a straight line. At this time we had the help of Ivanildo as a guide. At 17h00 we still had 1.28km to go and decided to go back to town because we knew it would be hard to reach the point due to the close vegetation and the thorns in it.

We slept and on the next day, at 8h00, we went after the confluence with the additional help of Mr. Luis who knows very well the area. We stopped the car at 1.36 km from the confluence and used a different route, suggested by Mr. Luis; a trail he made to mark the limits of his property. This trail took us within 60m of the point.

Our hunger was such that we took another 10 minutes, surrounded by thorns, to cover the remaining distance.

This is how we accomplished our goal and found a point in the middle of nowhere, but at the same time we found a town full of joy and hospitality.
