26-Oct-2007 -- For once, weather forecast look optimistic for this Sunday. A unique opportunity to visit a confluence point! The point 48N2E in the forest toward Orleans can easily be reached from Paris. Julien and I took the train to Orleans taking with us our favourite bikes (Rossinante and Pegasus 3). Once at the station of Orleans-Les-Aubrais there were about 10 km left to reach the point. At 400m from the point we took a track that brought us at 50m from the point according to the GPS. But those 50m were not the easier part of the trip. We had to walk through very dense vegetation. It was particularly dense because this summer has been really rainy (the worst summer since 1977, I was not even born!).

There were lots of thorny bushes scratching us. It was also a bit wet and full of nice insects like mosquitoes and horseflies. How nice it was! Anyway, after having been bitten by both insects and bushes we finally reached the point. We looked for the zeros, took a few pictures, killed some fierce insects and left quickly this hostile place. And after having crossed the same “vegetation wall” we finally joined our bikes and ate some delicious rabbit’s pâté.

Then we came back to Orleans to have a drink in front of the famous cathedral. At the end of the afternoon we took a train back to Paris.
