#1: Overview

(visited by Karl Bryk and Michael Bryk)

09-Aug-2007 -- A holiday to Blighty by car gave Michael and I the chance to visit a CP or 2 on the way. Instead of blasting through Germany, Belgium and a bit of France we decided to blast through Germany (of course ;-) but go via the Netherlands, Belgium and France instead. The plan was to visit Arnhem to see the bridge and the Hartenstein Airborne museum and the military cemetery in Oosterbeek. There is a CP to the North-East of Arnhem but since it is on farmland belonging seemingly to an unwelcoming farmer at 52N-06E, I had my eye on N52 E5 instead. After our visit to Arnhem we headed West towards Ijsselstein arriving there in the late afternoon.

Passing through Ijsselstein and past the often photographed transmitter we simply followed the GPS arrow to the CP. I was tempted not to get out and do every thing from the car but decided that was not in the spirit of CP hunting. I also feared having the visit classified as incomplete because of a technicality, i.e. not touching the ground, so we got out of the car. The usual photographs were taken and we proceeded on to Breda to stay the night before going on to N51 E2 the next day.
