#1: General view of confluence from 20 meters up to west

(visited by Shigeru Shimizu)

08-Jul-2007 -- Last night, I stayed at the hotel in Hidaka-town, it was 60 kilo meters away from this point. It was fine and dry today. I followed Route 274 to Yubari-Momijiyama, and changed to Route 452 to north. According to my map scaled 1/25000, I could find two approach to the confluence. One was climbed up the mount ridge and enter re-entrant from the gas station on the local road as reported by first visitor. Another one was followed small path ended at about 300 meters SSW from the confluence. I choose later idea, because the level of the path-end was 340 meters altitude and that of the confluence was 316 meters. Only 24 meters level difference seemed to be easy by keeping the level. I parked the car at the house beside the pass and started to walk at 8:45 AM. It was easy to follow the path. There was an broadcasting facility at the end of the path. I started the contouring in the forest at 8:57. The condition of the forest was good and easy to walk. I kept the level not to be lower, and reached the mount ridge 150 meters west of the target. I went down the ridge covered with bamboo grass. Finally I reached the point at 9:21 AM. After documented the confluence, I returned to the end of path by keeping the level and following small footpath. It was easier than the way to.
