#1: The Spot

(visited by Stephan Theriault)

27-Apr-2007 -- After spending a couple of days at an uncle's farm, doing some pig hunting and relaxing we got back on the road. We were frustrated at our first confluence attempt (28S 150E) as we came to a locked gate. So we doubled back and headed to our next one.

I took a road that was supposed to be a short cut to New South Wales, across the McIntyre River. Alas, once more we experienced frustration, coming to a no through road and it meant doubling back again. Instead we went via Goodiwindi.

About 60 kilometres south of the border we headed West on "Fox Lane" and drove on bitumen for five minutes brfore hitting the dirt. Just a bit further the GPS indicated that we were just about there. I headed out on foot for no more than a couple of hundred metres in a generic sort of grazing paddock. The terrain is quite flat out there and it made for a very easy confluence
