17-May-2007 --

North American Tour 2007

Continued from 43N 78W and last visit of this tripSo, it's last stop on the tour. Tomorrow is going home day, so that means that today is a wind down day and relax day. The girls (my wife Lynn & daughter Rachel) want to go shopping at the Jersey Mall. Not really my cup of tea and I'm pretty much shopped out so I'm off to squeeze in one last CP.

Straight down the New Jersey turnpike turning off where the SatNav indicates, just a few miles to go. I have printed off a map before I left home and almost as soon as you turn into Highland Drive you come to the golf club.

Park up and start to make my way to the Pro shop to try and find the head green keeper to ask for permission to walk all over his golf course. It turns out that Doug has left for the day but I speak with a very helpful gentleman called Joe Ridgefield who offered to take me directly to the spot!

Turns out there was a competition on today involving about 100 members of the WPGA, so wandering the course uninvited would definitely not have been welcomed.

There is now a plaque embedded into the fairway to mark the spot.

Coordinator's Note: Will any future visitors please remember that this is a PRIVATE club and wandering the course without permission is likely to get a less than friendly welcome.
