11-Jan-2007 -- Finally found a Confluence in the middle of nowhere heading from Nema in Mauritania towards Timbuktu in Mali as part the T4 Challenge in a group of 12 in 5 cars.

The confluence point was in a grassy dry savanna about 10 km from a remote dirt track. After some confluence dancing we all found the confluence point with the 4 GPS's we had with us. We drove to the point off the dirt track in the 3 4WD, over long grass, between small trees and bushes. The ground was pretty flat.

The T4 Challenge involved driving a relatively cheap car (less than $1000 or £500) from the UK to Timbuktu. Many cars were worth considerably less, for example my Volvo 2WD was £165 (approx $310). We did over 5000 miles in just over 3 weeks, much of which off road.
