#1: CP from the Road 318 m

(visited by Raja Imran and Fiaz)

28-Dec-2006 -- *with Thanks to Khurram Ihtesham Malik, PUM, PLAN International, Chakwal*

On an invitation from a dear friend, Khurram to visit Chakwal where he is working as the Program Unit Manager in PLAN International, I made up my mind to visit this DCP.

Khurram handed me over to Fiaz and we got away in his Car to visit this point. Fiaz was driving while I was tracking and recording way points on the way.

Leaving PLAN Office at around 1130 hrs, a Gas fill and turning left from Pindi Phatak, towards Dhodial, we took a Right Turn about 12 km. This way was Chak Umra, but navigating some distance, it was found that we are not going in the direction.

A turn back, 3km and another turn led us to a dirt Road, which was again wrong. Coming back and taking the route straight past the wrong turn, we reached Bhin Village 19km from start.

A little further and an uphill rough track leads to fields afresh with greenery. At this point, the Electronic Compass started looking encouraging.

Following the track and reaching near a tube well, the GPS showed distance less than 318 meters which then started increasing so we got off and on the right was the Point in mid of a field.

Knowing being 300, 200, 150, 100 and then 50 meters away from the Point was a thrill. This point is about 22.42 km of distance covered without accounting wrong turns.

A walk on the paths among fields led us to a big one and we were on the edge of this field sown with Maize/Corn. 11 meters inside the field and we are there at 1346hrs.

It took three(3))minutes to obtain complete zeros at 1347hrs on the GPS under a sunny sky with the most beautiful view around.

Taking pictures of all sides, the GPS and after taking a break under a big tree just meters away, Fiaz and I returned with the good memories.

I have tracked the path available at Google Earth Community. Wish all who visit this point a very good luck.

Coordinator's Note: This visit is classified incomplete because it does not meet the photo requirements of the project.
