24-Oct-2006 -- From 39N 37E on our way to the Black Sea, we headed northwards to Sivas, then east to the small city of Zara. The road from Zara to Suşehri is crossing the Kızıl Dağ mountain range, passing the confluence 40N 38E, which according to the map should be about 800 m right from the road in the mountains.

After passing the highest point of the road with 2200 m of altitude, it was winding down the hills. The Indian Summer painted the forests in orange and yellow. A high tension power line was crossing the street. Under the power line a path was turning right into the mountains, according to the GPS the Confluence should be 900 m to the right. It was getting dark soon.

We turned right, waded through a small river and climbed up the trail with our Ford Focus until the clay road became too steep. We parked the car and walked through the mountains, climbing up and down until we found the Confluence 10 m next to our clay road in grass land just under a small rocky peak. We took the photos, it was almost dark.

Back to our car we just followed the road walking downhill, drove back through the river to the main road, and travelled north to Giresun where we arrived at 9:00 p.m.
