15-Oct-2006 -- Since we met the "Degree Confluence Project", thanks to our friend hunter Alfredo Remon and after having read the experiences of the hunters of confluences, we have felt the curiosity to experience the sensation of arriving to a not visited Confluence, although we had already made N10W70 with our experienced friends, (Alfredo, Alfredo’s sons, Ricardo and Jesus). As beginners we wanted to assume the challenge of planning a hunt, analyzing the possible routes to choose to achieve the objective. For this purpose, on October 15, we decided to undertake this hunt and we left Barquisimeto at 7:30 AM.

We took the National road 4 to Churuguara in the Falcon State. After traveling 74.5 mi we arrived into Santa Cruz of Bucaral, here we were at 29.2 mi. of the objective. We continued on this road and we begin to enter in the mountainous area, arriving at the town of La Taza for a partially paved road, from here we took north direction toward the La Montaña, located inside the Cueva de la Quebrada del Toro National Park. We continued and at Tacamire we met with Jorge Luís "Lucho" Quero and Gilberto Rodríguez who they offered as guides for our journey until the Confluence.

Of Tacamire we took north direction toward Guarabal. We arrive to a point where our GPS marked a distance of 1,86 mi, in straight line toward the Confluence, It was the entrance of the Fundo Paraiso, we traveled 0,621 mi approximately with the vehicle until the vegetation didn't allowed us to proceed; we decide to walk, but as we advanced it got harder. We opted for an alternate route. Fundo de Titico is located more to the north, we locateed the foreman of the property who kindly gave us the key of the gate it was about 2 PM, we traveled 1,24 mi., there were a small house and some domestic animals, there was nobody to request entrance permit , so we decided to leave the vehicle, and to walk for a path to the right. We walked 0,994 mi. When we were 295 ft. of the objective, we go up a small hill and there among the vegetation we get the zeros in our GPS, to an altitude of 374 fasl at the 3:40 PM.

It was very touching to see the zeros, we seemed children in a park, the guides laughed and they didn't understand our happiness, however they were happy because we had found what we looked for.

Once back, Mr. Andrade, the manager was there, we explain what we looked for and he seemed pleased and even told us that it is possible to enter with the vehicle. It is of worth to notice that you can arrive with the vehicle until 656 ft of the Confluence, provided you are allowed by Mr. Andrade.

This area is of very pleasant fresh climate, the economy is based on cattle raising and agriculture, it also has a tourist attractiveness as it is the National Park the Cave of the Gulch of the Bull. Rosalda Roscioli, Venezuela, October 2006
