#1: The confluence

(visited by Ilia Yablonko and Artem Sismekov)

English Narrative

English Narrative

12-Jun-2006 -- We visited this point on the last day of our three-day bike hiking trip upon Sverdlovsk oblast’ (province) and Perm kray (region).

After spending the night in tent in forest 3 kilometers away from Kyn railway station, we went by local train to Nevidimka (Invisible Being) station.

Nevidimka lies approximately 6 minutes to the west of the point. Quite good unpaved road runs from the settlement in proper direction, to the timber felling area. That road runs as far as 800 meters from the confluence point. We had two bridges across Lys’va river depicted on our map, but when we approached the lower (the nearer to us) we discovered that the bridge was destroyed long time ago, and three long pine-tree trunks were thrown across the river instead. We were forced to carefully cross the river upon those logs with our bikes.

The road to the confluence occurred to be of excellent quality (for bikers – important remark) but it almost uninterruptedly went uphill. We approached the closest to the point place of the road relatively quickly. Having thoroughly dressed ourselves to avoid hazard of ticks, mosquitoes and other insects we plunged in the forest.

The point happened to lie on the edge of broad cutting, that was not drew on our map. Upon completion all the necessary procedures we went back. It was by far easier to ride our bikes downhill on our way back. This time we crossed Lys’va upon the upper bridge.

From Nevidimka we went on upon asphalt road to Chusovoy, where we took another local train.
