This is the 9th visit out of an 11-confluences-hunt along the 50-degree latitude line. The trip starts at 50°N 13°E and follows our previous hunt westwards along the 50 degree line.

After a successful visit of 50°N 21°E, we continued our trip eastwards on the road no.4 from Tarnów. It was again a simple hop from one confluence to another, since we just had to continue on that road until we reached the city of Rzeszów.

Rzeszów is a city in south-eastern Poland with a population of 164,000. Its many historic buildings include a 17th-century castle and an 18th-century town hall. It is located on both sides of the Wislok river and the largest academic centre in south-eastern Poland. Because Rzeszów is located on the international route number 4, connecting Germany and Ukraine, the traffic is high, but the road does not go through the centre due to a new transit road that passes through the southern districts.

The motorized confluencer just needs to stay on that transit road until there is a turnoff towards Drabinianka towards south and follow some periphery roads for 2 km until the allotment named ‘P.O.D. NAD STRUGIEM’ appears. There is a parking lot in front of the gate (140 m to the confluence) and one has to follow straight through the allotment until Strug River is reached.

We chose this confluence to be the prettiest of our trip – may be because it was sunny and pleasant – but also due to the flowers all around and its location right above the river. At the time of our visit – a sunny Saturday afternoon in May – people were working in their gardens. After documenting the confluence and filling out our booking sheet, we made a pleasant walk through the garden colony before we headed to the next confluence point.

By the way, the nearest confluence is only 500 m away from 50°N 22°E – that’s where Strug River flows into Wislok River!

Wersja polska

Rzeszów to miasto w południowo-wschodniej Polsce, 164,000 mieszkańców.

NAD STRUGIEM’.

  • Czas dojazdu do przecięcia: 1 godzina 45 minut
  • Dystans przejechany: 87 km z 50°N 21°E
  • Odległość do parkingu: 139 m
  • Odległość do ścieżki: 0 m
  • Odległość do drogi: 150 m
  • Odległość do zabudowań: 20 m
  • Topografia: płasko, na 5 metrowej wysokości brzegu rzeki
  • Odległość do przecięcia według GPS: 0.76 m
  • Dokładność pozycji: 4 m
  • Wysokość: 199 m npm
  • Roślinność: trawnik (dokładnie w punkcie), w kierunku rzeki kilka rodzajów drzew (buki, brzozy, iglaki) i wiele kwiatów w ogródkach (tulipany, żonkile, porzeczki itp..).
