#1: Confluence; Looking East

(visited by Ted Merriman)

18-Mar-2006 -- My father and I went to hear someone speak on Creation and Evolution at the Dover Area High School in York County and noticed that the confluence was only a slight detour of US 30. So on our way back I decided to stop at the confluence.

We pulled up to the house and my father waited in the car. I rand the doorbell and a young woman and a middle aged bearded man answered. I explained my purpose and he said he did not mind if I checked it out. He said he didn't know the exact location and that they occasionally get people to come and visit.

Maybe the next visitor could suggest they have it marked for publicity. I walked passed the house to see some caged German Shepards and a Chocolate Labrador Retreiver. They like to bark. While heading up the hill, I saw some gopher or woodchuck holes (future visitors, watch your step.) Not having a GPS device I remembered the felled tree in the woods and probably got within 5 meters of the confluence.

As I headed back to the car it began to get very windy.
